Happy Harry puts the curse on the Gunners

Harry Redknapp does not look like the eternal optimist, far from it. Heavy jowelled, down turned mouth, slumped on the bench... it looks as though the hounds of hell are about to bite his backside.

But what you see is not always what you get; ask his players at Portsmouth or the journalists who deal with him on a weekly basis. He has a wicked sense of fun and his optimism is infectious as it sweeps the cobwebs out of the dressing rooms at White Hart Lane.

You can bet the Mediterranean diet initiated by previous incumbent Juande Ramos is right out of the window, more likely pie and mash with mushy peas for a pre match meal these days.

If there were any supporter or player with a doubt at Tottenham they were surely extinguished on Wednesday evening at, of all places, the Emirates where Spurs came back from the dead to snatch a remarkable 4-4 draw which could set the pattern for what remains of the seasons.

It is not just the four points from the two games that have ignited the players and terraces but the sense of fun it has brought.

Spectacular goals, hilarious blunders (for the uncommitted!) and the mother of all come backs with two Spurs goals in added on time for the sort of result no one could have predicted.

It had Frenchman Arsene Wenger spluttering and growling while Harry Redknapp understandably swallowed the fears which must have crept into his brain during the game to praise the character, courage, skills etc, etc of his new players.
