Travel specialist Journey Latin America has been awarded a 5-star Responsible Tourism status by AITO (Association of Independent Tour Operators) – the highest achievable.
AITO have operated a Responsible Travel Award for several years, with a maximum award of 3 Stars; Journey Latin America has held this for the last two consecutive years.
They currently support four charities on an ongoing basis as consistent commitment to help them to plan for long-term development, as well as meeting immediate needs.
Journey Latin America will be donating £200 per person to the charity Que Rico! for every person who books their special Bolivian group tour.
Keen to volunteer whilst travelling through Bolivia in 2004, Nick Marsh and Madalyn Bielfeld spent time in the Burns Unit, Cochabamba.
Upon return to the UK they set up Que Rico! a registered charity dedicated to support the centre, which treats badly, burned children.
